Only high school seniors with a GPA of 2.0 or better are eligible to participate in the scholarship program. Students are required to provide verification of their grade point average (official school transcript). Applicants or their parents/guardian must be an active member of Valley Electric at the time of the drawing. Winners must attend a four year college or university, technical or junior college, located in Louisiana. Scholarships will be made payable to the University in care of the applicant and mailed to the applicants address. Winners are restricted to a one time $1000.00 scholarship.
SELECTION OF WINNERS
The number of scholarships given each year will be decided on and approved by Valley's Board of Directors in December. Applications and the required attachments will be due by June 1st. The names of the qualifying applicants will be included in a random drawing at Valley Electric's annual meeting held the 4th Saturday in June. You need not be present to win, but the annual meeting is open to and encouraged to be attended by all VEMCO members. Winners will receive a one time $1000.00 scholarship. Checks will be mailed to the winners following verification of registration at a four year college or university, technical or junior college in Louisiana.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Must be an active member of Valley Electric.
Must be on Valley Electric lines for at least one year and account must be in good standing.
Must be a full time student.
Must provide proof of registration.
Must attend a four year college or university, technical or junior college, in Louisiana.
Must provide letter of recommendation confirming GPA.
