Security Lights
Feel safe and secure and extend your daylight hours with a security light. The cost of a security light is $7.04 per month, plus 80 Kwh at the current fuel charge. There is no charge for the installation of a security light on an existing pole, but a one year contract is required. If a new pole is required there will be a minimum fee of $300.00 plus a two year contract. Maintenance of the light will be the cooperative's responsibility.
Water Heater Program (VEMCO's Water Heater Program Has Been Suspended Until Further Notice)
New Construction - A consumer building a new home or remodeling a home in the Valley Electric service area can purchase an energy efficient 40 or 50 gallon Rheem water heater for $100.00.
Replacement of an electric water heater - A consumer can purchase an electric water heater to replace their existing electric water heat at a discount. Total price of the heater including tax is $251.16. Payment is expected at time of purchase. Mastercard, visa, and discover are accepted.
Replacement of a gas water heater - Valley Electric members who have a gas water heater and who would like to change to electric can recieve an electric heater at no charge if they meet certain criteria. The consumer must have a twelve month prior history with VEMCO, the account must be in good standing, and the rating sticker or plate from their gas water heater is required as proof of gas.

HomeShield Surge Protection Program
Valley Electric is proud to introduce HomeShield, a Surge Protection Program designed to protect both appliances and sensitive electronics. Originally designed for the Florida storm areas, these devices are not available in stores and are only available through Valley Electric.
HomeShield, a customized two-part surge suppression system, consist of a meter base adapter and a variety of plug strips. The meter base adapter is installed behind the electric meter by Valley Electric personnel at no charge to the consumer and protects your electro-mechanical equipment. This device is leased by the co-op member for $6.00 per month and maintained by Valley Electric. To provide complete surge protection, the program also includes the sale of equipment (plug-in strips) designed to protect your sensitive electronics such as computers, entertainment centers and satellite systems.
Since lightning can enter your home through your electrical, telephone, cable, satellite or TV antenna, VEMCO HomeShield provides you with complete protection. The program is designed to ensure external surges pass through a protection device when entering your home.
Even though the HomeShield Protection program is designed for residential applications, products are also available for commercial and industrial consumers.
HomeShield surge protection devices are guaranteed for life and provide a manufacturers connected equipment repair/replacement warranty separate from your homeowner's policy.
